The "Association BioSecure" (BioSecure Association) is a non-profit organisation registered in Paris, France. The Association is hosted by IMT formerly known as "Groupe des Ecoles de Télécommunications". At present, the Board of the Association BioSecure is made up of Bernadette Dorizzi (Institut Mines-Télécom) acting as President, Farzin Deravi (University of Kent) acting as Vice-President and Jean-Paul Lefèvre (ARCHES) acting as Treasurer and Secretary.

The  role of "Association BioSecure” (BioSecure Association) is to maintain and distribute the major outcomes of the BioSecure FP6 Network of Excellence that lasted from June 2004 to September 2007.

BioSecure was a Network of Excellence (European FP6 framework) in the domain of biometrics grouping the critical mass of expertise (30 partners) required to promote Europe as a leading force in the field. A major result of the BioSecure  NoE is the design of a common evaluation framework (including databases, reference systems and assessment protocols) contributing to standardisation efforts and providing tools very valuable to the community for benchmarking issues.

The  "Association BioSecure” provides therefore to the biometric R&D community, an evaluation platform including databases, reference systems (baseline algorithms), and assessment protocols for a variety of well-established modalities (face, speaker, on-line signature, fingerprints, hand shape, iris).

According to the terms of a joint ownership and licence agreement signed between the acquisition centers and the BioSecure Association, this Association has the right to handle on an exclusive unlimited basis the distribution of the data collected during the BioSecure project.
